                        A Study on the Translation Strategies of Puns in English Advertisements from the Perspective of Cultural Context

                          Abstract:As a literary rhetoric, the humorous implication of pun's multi-meaning expression is often used in advertisement propaganda. Brand preference is gradually established in the heartfelt laughter of consumers. With the development of economic globalization, some English-based publicity advertisements have begun to appear in people's vision. The application of puns is limited by cultural differences, and it is difficult to make full use of them. Therefore, this paper, by giving examples of the application and effect of specific translation strategies of puns in English advertisements, aims to provide translation strategies for cross-cultural communication. The application research provides more examples for reference.
